For the sixth consecutive year, the Medis pharmaceutical company is organizing the International Medis Awards for Medical Research. The purpose of the contest is to seek out and reward exceptional clinical research achievements of medical doctors and pharmacists from within Central and South East Europe. As their work contributes significantly to the development of medical diagnostics and treatment and brings numerous advantages for patients, it deserves to be recognized and honoured.
Registration is open to medical doctors and pharmacists from the following nine countries: Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia and Slovenia.
They can register submissions in the following areas: intensive care medicine and anesthesiology, gastroenterology, gynecology, pharmacy, neurology, ophthalmology, pediatrics, pulmonology and allergology or rheumatology.
All applications will be reviewed according to predetermined criteria by an international panel led by Prof. Dr Matija Tomšič, MD, Chair of the Department of Rheumatology at the Ljubljana University Medical Centre.
Entries for 2019 are open until 4 September 2019 and any work published or presented between 1 September 2018 and 31 August 2019 may be submitted.
The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony held on 5 November in Ljubljana and will be awarded with “Bodočnost” (The Future), a bronze sculpture created by the Croatian-Slovenian sculptor Jakov Brdar, a commemorative medal and a financial grant for further research work.
